Happy Easter! Happy Passover! Happy Sunday! Happy Spring!
Still not happy?
There are lots of reasons to get together with family and friends today. But if you're home alone and feeling sorry for yourself, YOU can change that!
Einstein said, "When you change the things you look at, the things you look at change!"
The brain is a goal-oriented mechanism. You will always find the things you're looking for. So, if you're looking for things that will keep you unhappy, you will find them. And conversely, if you go looking for things that you like, things that make you happy, you will find those too!
You can improve your state of mind! It's a matter of simple hypnosis. Direct your focus to what you want.
When you're feeling sad or lonely stop looking at the things that make you unhappy. (All your friends have family obligations; it's gray and cloudy where you are; you've outgrown your 'Sunday Best'; you still haven't found a job; etc.)
Instead, start small. Look at the things around you that you LIKE!
Look around you and JUST NOTICE THE THINGS YOU LIKE. Go ahead, do it now. Actively look around you and JUST NOTICE THE THINGS YOU LIKE.
Maybe you have: a roof over your head, hot and cold running water, a comfortable chair, a fresh cup of coffee, a chance to stay in your sweats all day, time for a nap. Just start looking around you for things that you DO like.
Spend a few minutes on this "Easter egg hunt of treasures" around you. Then go inside your imagination, direct your focus, and expand your scope to all the things in your life that you like, that you appreciate, that you're grateful for. Just a few minutes of this exercise and YOU WILL FEEL BETTER!
You can repeat this self-hypnosis exercise as often as you choose. And you can use it any time, any place, under any circumstance that you need it.
You will find it changes your state because you're looking for things that make you happy instead of looking for proof that you have reasons/excuses to remain stuck in unhappiness.
You get to choose what you think. Direct your focus, choose to look for things that make you happy, and have a great day!
