Here's What You Missed At Chicago Hypnosis CenterPosted by: Chicago Hypnosis Center in Information on Apr 28, 2011 Tagged in: General

If you weren't at the Amp Up Your Elevator Speech workshop, you didn't discover the hypnotic language you should be using every time you introduce yourself to connect with your audience and make them want to know more about you.

Here's a hint...
You might notice that the most frequently used word in the first paragraph of this post was "you." That's how your elevator speech or introduction should go, too.
Even experienced networkers make the mistake of I-I-I-me-me-me in their introductions. You can practically see the eyes glazing over around the room as someone gases on about who they are and what they do and how many awards they've won.
Instead, try starting your introduction with a focus on the people you're talking to. Indentify what THEY need or want. THEN tell them how you can give it to them. Describe a problem they're dealing with. THEN tell them how you can solve it for them.
Make it about them first. You may be surprised at the difference in the response you get when your listeners feel your attention is really on them.
Of course there are more secrets of hypnotic language; there was a lot of learning going on at the workshop. We'll look forward to seeing you at the next one.
